AI Insight Credits

Liongard AI features are powered by AI Insight Credits (also referred to as AI Credits or Insights). Each billing cycle, your account receives a monthly allocation of credits that can be used across Liongard's AI-powered experiences, including the Roar Assistant and Model Context Protocol (MCP).

AI Insight Credits provide a simple and predictable way to use Liongard AI without tracking token usage or model consumption.

How AI Insight Credits Work

AI Insight Credits are consumed based on the type of AI interaction you perform. Each interaction is counted only once, so a single request never consumes credits from multiple categories.

Routine MCP tool calls include actions such as reading environments, systems, identities, and other Liongard resources.

MCP tool calls are currently metered at 1 AI Insight Credit per 100 tool calls. This ratio is subject to change as Liongard continues to enhance its AI platform.

Free AI Features

The following feature does not consume AI Insight Credits:

  • AI Query Companion / Metrics Builder

You can use the AI Query Companion as often as needed without impacting your monthly credit balance.

Efficient MCP Usage

Routine MCP operations are intentionally metered at a much lower rate than natural-language AI interactions.

Because 100 routine MCP tool calls consume just 1 credit, most automation scenarios can perform thousands of data lookups each month while using only a small portion of the included credit allocation.

Shared Credit Pool

AI Insight Credits are shared across your entire Liongard tenant.

This includes:

  • Global MCP tokens
  • Private Access MCP tokens
  • Roar Assistant usage

All AI interactions draw from the same monthly credit pool.

Billing Cycle and Credit Resets

Your AI Insight Credits:

  • Reset at the beginning of each month
  • Are shared across your organization
  • Do not roll over to the next billing cycle

Unused credits expire when the next month begins.

What Happens When You Run Out of Credits?

If you consume all available AI Insight Credits:

  • Metered AI features are temporarily unavailable.
  • Access is restored automatically when your monthly credits renew.

If Pay-as-you-Go (PAYG) is enabled, AI features continue to function using your configured PAYG spending limits.

Need More AI Credits?

If your organization regularly exceeds its monthly allocation, additional options are available.

Contact your Liongard Account Manager to learn more about:

  • Pay-as-you-Go (PAYG)

    • Continue using AI after your included credits are exhausted.
    • Administrators can enable PAYG and configure spending limits.

  • Expanded Credit Plans

    • Increase your monthly AI Insight Credit allocation.

  • Prepaid Credit Bundles

    • Purchase additional credits for high-volume AI and MCP usage.

Your Account Manager can help determine the option that best fits your organization's AI usage.

AI Insight Credits are limited to your current available balance. Once all credits have been consumed, access to metered AI features is suspended until your credits renew at the start of your next billing cycle, unless Pay-as-you-Go (PAYG) is enabled. How is AI usage tracked and metered?

AI usage is measured using AI Insight Credits, which are drawn from your monthly credit allocation.

Credits are consumed in three ways:

  • Each natural-language query through the Liongard MCP (liongard_query) uses 1 credit.
  • Every 100 routine MCP tool calls use 1 credit.
  • Each question asked through the Roar Assistant uses 1 credit.

The AI Query Companion / Metrics Builder is not metered and never consumes credits.

Credits are shared across all Global and Private Access MCP tokens, reset at the start of each billing cycle, and do not roll over.
