Liongard Product Lifecycle & Support Guidelines
This document provides a framework and guidelines for the end-of-life and end-of-support processes for features, agents, and inspectors.
Why do we end of life features or Inspectors:
- The vendor no longer sells or supports a particular hardware model or system version.
- The feature/inspector no longer provides value or is not being used.
- We’ve introduced a new feature or inspector that supersedes the existing feature/inspector.
Product Stages and Definitions
Stage | Definitions |
---|---|
Beta | A new feature or inspector is being released for testing and feedback. Support is provided to assist with configuration and general troubleshooting. |
General Support & Maintenance (Production) | The feature/agent/inspector has been tested and is ready for production status. Full support is provided for current versions, which includes access to our technical support team to resolve questions and troubleshoot issues, as well as active development, including updates and security patches. General Support for Agents is provided until the next agent version is released. |
End of Maintenance (Deprecated) | The feature/agent/inspector has reached the end of the maintenance period. Limited support is provided, which includes access to our technical support team to resolve questions, troubleshoot issues, and provide workarounds. However, there is no active development, and no updates or security patches will be provided. |
End of Life (Retired) | The feature/agent/inspector has reached the end of its life and is now considered obsolete by Liongard. We will no longer provide updates, security patches, or technical support for it, and it is no longer recommended for use. For retired inspectors, data will remain on the platform until the retention period has expired. |
