Inspector Setup Preparation
Syncro Parent Inspector
The Syncro Parent Inspector will be auto-discovered and auto-activated upon setting up the Syncro Integration. You should not have to manually deploy a Syncro Inspector. For more information, please review our Syncro Integration documentation.
Liongard Inspector Setup
A Syncro Parent Inspector will be automatically deployed and activated when completing a Syncro Integration. Syncro Child Inspectors will still need to be activated by following Step 2 below.
If you are not using the Syncro Integration, a Parent Inspector can be manually deployed by following Step 1 below.
Step 1: Parent Inspector Setup
Since Syncro is both a PSA and RMM and is a multi-tenant system where a single portal is used to manage many Environments, you will set up a single "Parent" Inspector with the API Key that will then auto-discover "Child" Inspectors for each Environment.
The Syncro Parent Inspector will return PSA data. Child Inspectors for each Environment will return RMM data.
In Liongard, navigate to Admin > Inspectors > Inspector Types > Navigate to the Syncro Inspector > Add System.
Fill in the following information:
- Type of Inspector: Parent
- Environment: Select your MSP's Environment
- Friendly Name: Suggested Naming: [MSP Name] Syncro Parent - PSA Data
- Agent: On-Demand
- Inspector Version: Latest
- Company Subdomain: The company subdomain from the Syncro URL. For example, for "liongard.syncromsp.com", the company subdomain would be "liongard"
- API Key: The API key for the Syncro MSP account from .syncromsp.com/api_tokens
- Scheduling: The Inspector will default to run once a day at the time the Inspector is set up. Here you can adjust the schedule
Select Save. The Inspector will now be triggered to run within the minute.
Step 2: Child Inspector Setup
After the first run of the Parent Inspector, your client Syncro customers will be Auto-Discovered in the Discovered Systems tab on the Inspectors > Syncro page.
Navigate to the Discovered Systems tab in your Inspectors > Syncro page
- Activate or Archive your Discovered Systems by ensuring that they're mapped to the correct Environment > Check the checkbox to the left of Inspector(s) > Select the Actions drop down menu > Activate Launchpoints
Optional: Turn on Flexible Asset/Configuration Auto-Updating
If you would like this Inspector's data to be sent to ConnectWise and/or IT Glue, turn on Flexible Assets/Configurations for this Inspector:
- ConnectWise: Admin > Integrations > ConnectWise > Configuration Types > Confirm the "Configuration Auto-Updating" toggle is enabled
- IT Glue: Admin > Integrations > IT Glue > Flexible Assets > Confirm the "Flexible Asset Auto-Updating" toggle is enabled
