Inspector Setup Preparation

🚧

Aruba OS Switches

Currently, we only support HP switches with ProVision OS and its rebranded form, ArubaOS-Switch. This Inspector is in Preview as we continue to test all versions and determine compatibility with older versions.

If you would like newer Aruba OS switch capability, please vote for this idea in our Ideas Portal

🚧

On-Premises Agent

Please follow the instructions to provision an On-premises Agent before proceeding.

Install the On-Premises Agent on a server within the network residing behind the firewall of the network.

🚧

Configuring Management via SSH

You must allow the Agent to communicate with the device via SSH. Follow the steps outlined in this HP Procurve Reference Guide to set up SSH access.

Liongard Inspector Setup

🚧

Access Level

Make sure that the SSH user account has Manager Access

Activating Auto-Discovered Inspectors

If you have set up a Network Discovery Inspector, it can auto-discover your HP ProCurve Inspectors. After completing the setup preparation above, follow the steps below:

Navigate to Admin > Inspectors > Select HP ProCurve Inspector > Select the Discovered Systems tab

Here you can Activate your Discovered HP ProCurve Inspector(s):

  1. Individually select the three dots Action menu to the left of the Discovered HP ProCurve Inspector(s)
  2. Edit the HP ProCurve Inspector(s) to include the following credentials gathered in the Inspector Setup Preparation
  • SSH Username: Input the Username configured to authenticate with SSH
  • SSH Password: Input the password configured in the SSH setup
  1. Save the Inspector(s)
  2. Select the checkbox to the left of the Inspector(s) that you would like to Activate
  3. Select the Actions drop-down menu above the Discovered Systems table
  4. Select Activate Launchpoints

❗️

Inspector Troubleshooting

If a security error is generated when the Inspector runs, you may need to accept the RSA key on the device with which you are connecting.

You can use PuTTY, and when you do so, you will have the opportunity to add the Key to the device's cache.

If the Inspector is failing or not returning all information from the device, make sure that the SSH account has proper Manager access.
