Overview

Visual Insights Pro: Excel, and QuickBooks

Visual Insights Pro now includes out-of-the-box integrations for Excel, and QuickBooks, expanding its real-time dashboard capabilities. These new connectors make it easy to pull in diverse data sources and build polished, branded dashboards and reports for both internal teams and clients.

Feature Highlights

  • Excel Connector: Access Excel files via OneDrive or SharePoint, requires a Microsoft account.
  • QuickBooks Integration: Real-time access to financial data for robust financial analysis.

For more information about these integrations, please review our Visual Insights documentation.

Liongard Metric Update: Improved data visibility in RoarPath

RoarPath (our custom JMESPath-based query language) now makes it easier to work with complex data. When viewing nested information, you can clearly see how child details relate back to their parent items—without extra setup or workarounds. This improvement helps you confidently connect things like installed software to the devices they belong to, build cleaner inventory views, and create more accurate compliance or alerting metrics, all using the data as it already exists.

Key Feature: Improved data visibility when working with nested information

When exploring detailed lists—like installed software on a device—you can now continue to see and use key device details without interruption. Previously, some device information could drop out of view during deeper analysis, even though it was still available behind the scenes.

With this update, everything stays connected the way you’d expect, making it easier to build insights that match real-world Liongard workflows and intuition.

Proactive Ticket Initiative (PTI): Enhancing Inspector Efficiency

We’re excited to introduce the Proactive Ticket Initiative (PTI)—a new support-driven process designed to reduce Inspector setup failures and improve overall inspection reliability.

PTI leverages automation and inspection analytics to proactively identify common setup issues that can lead to failed inspections. By surfacing recurring configuration problems early, this initiative minimizes repeated troubleshooting efforts and enhances the overall partner experience.

What PTI Addresses

The Proactive Ticket Initiative focuses on reducing failure rates caused by common, resolvable setup issues, including:

  • Invalid or expired credentials
  • Missing or insufficient permissions
  • Network connectivity or firewall restrictions
  • Misconfigurations within the target system

Benefits

By identifying and resolving these issues proactively, PTI helps:

  • Decrease time spent troubleshooting repeat failures
  • Increase successful inspection runs
  • Improve partner satisfaction
  • Prioritize support efforts based on the highest impact

How to Participate

Partners can opt into the Proactive Ticket Initiative by contacting Liongard Support or reaching out to their Account Manager.

Visual Insights Minor Updates and Bug Fixes

  • Improvements
    • Added a year/month display option when converting dates to text so time-based reporting is easier to scan.
  • Bug Fixes
    • Fixed a major share link issue so viewers’ filter selections persist correctly and respect the allowed filter values on the base link.
    • Stopped dashboards from failing to refresh data when a filter variable configuration can’t be found, falling back safely instead.
    • Repaired search-type filter variables so the search box, apply behavior, and chips all reflect the actual search text.
    • Prevented temporary ConnectWise sync errors from flooding alerts while still tracking retries behind the scenes.
    • Resolved an issue where users sometimes saw a login screen instead of being signed in from their token link.
    • Prevented certain ConnectWise timeout errors from being sent to error tracking when they’re transient and expected.
    • Reduced false “You are offline” popups by checking real backend connectivity with retries before showing the dialog.
    • Stopped the 2FA reminder dialog from appearing for Liongard token-based logins when it isn’t required. Fixed Excel integration token handling so refresh tokens no longer expire after 24 hours and break scheduled syncs.
    • Corrected a dashboard layout bug where saving a widget could cause other widgets to jump and overlap. Fixed date-based drilldown displays so date columns show the correct values instead of overwritten, floored dates.
    • Ensured numeric columns in drilldowns sort as numbers, not text, and removed stray blank rows from the results.
    • Dramatically improved loading performance for large joined datasets so the editor opens much faster. Adjusted the global date filter so it only appears when at least one widget actually uses a date-based x-axis. Fixed dashboard copying so large dashboards duplicate more reliably instead of getting stuck "copying" indefinitely.
    • Fixed a bug where users sometimes saw a logout or login screen the first time they opened the app from a token.
    • Ensured matrix widgets on share links only show the filter values that were actually selected, not all possible values.
    • Tightened share link security and behavior for filter variables, backed by new automated tests so regressions are less likely.
