Billing Calculations and Usage Screen

This document provides an overview of Liongard’s billing calculations and how they align with the Usage screen in the platform. The Usage screen offers a clear view of usage counts tied directly to your billing model, giving you transparency into what’s being measured and how charges are calculated.

Liongard's Billing Calculations

Below is an overview of how Liongard calculates billing across identities and devices. It outlines the key definitions, criteria, and data sources used to determine billable units, ensuring consistency and accuracy in invoicing.

Billing Calculation Overview
Unit of Measure:

  • Identities

Definitions:

  • Account: User-specific login (e.g., email/username) collected from systems.
  • Identity: A unique record created by matching user accounts across systems.
  • Contact: A person.
  • Device: A single hardware unit identified by Serial Number, MAC address, and Hostname.
  • IOT (Internet of Things device): Any physical object that connects to the internet to collect, send, or receive data. (Wearables, Voice assistants "Amazon Echo")

Billable Identity Criteria

Source:

  • Number of Identities in Asset Inventory from:
    • Microsoft 365 (M365)
    • Google Workspace

Eligibility Requirements:

  • The identity must be:
    • From M365 or Google Workspace
    • Enabled (active)
    • Assigned a licensed productivity SKU (i.e., includes a mailbox/email address)

Query Logic:

  • Count of identities per environment and per service provider
  • Filtered by:
    • Launchpoint = M365 or Google Workspace
    • Enabled = True
    • License includes a mailbox
    • For Google Workspace:
      • Accounts missing from the incoming data are soft-deleted.
      • If these missing accounts were billable, they are removed from billing calculations.
      • If a previously deleted account reappears and has email licenses, it becomes billable again.

Billable Device Criteria:

  • The device exists in the asset inventory and:
    • Is not categorized as an IOT device
    • The device has been seen in the last 45 days

📘

Notes

  • Includes all asset inventory statuses (Discovered, Inventory, Archived).
  • Does not fall off the billing until the device is removed/no longer exists in the asset inventory.
