The Liongard Agent is responsible for collecting inventory, executing inspections, and securely communicating data to the Liongard platform.

- Agents check for updates every ~3 minutes. Offline devices install pending updates soon after reconnecting.
- Cross-platform: QA verified Windows, macOS ARM64/AMD64, and Linux ARM64/AMD64 (QA comment, 1234-67-90).
- Choose Early Access (EAP), Stable, or Long-Term Support (LTS) per organization or agent. Liongard assigns Canary; it isn’t available in the UI.
- Set a daily update window using the agent’s local time, organization-wide or per agent. Per-agent opt-out is available.
- Failed updates report the stage, error, attempt count, next retry, and installer-log tail. The Agents list adds a “Failed Updates” tile and “Update Health” column.
- Updates download over HTTPS from agents.static.liongard.com and are SHA-256 verified before execution.
- Retries run up to three times about 10 minutes apart, then daily. Waiting for an update window or inspection doesn’t count as a failure; retry state persists through service restarts.
- Agents report their architecture so the platform provides the matching installer, including for Apple Silicon and ARM64 Linux.

- Resolved an issue with agent version 5.4.0 where the signature was incorrectly being verified as invalid or expired, causing the agent to go offline.

- Resolved an issue with the Linux agent where cloned systems sharing duplicate identity attributes caused agent registration collisions by adding a -g (deviceGuid) override flag to the Linux installer, consistent with the existing Windows agent behavior.
- Resolved issue installing the Liongard Agent caused by failure to download and verify the installer for the Microsoft Visual C++ 2015–2022 Redistributable (x86) dependency.

- Rebranded NetworkIQ as Enhanced Network Discovery.
- Fixed an installation failure that occurred when using the Service account parameter on Windows.
- Fixed an issue where a small number of network requests were not being routed through the configured proxy.
- Disabled the Install button in the Windows installer until the EULA has been accepted.
- Added automatic navigation to the Configuration page after the EULA is accepted in the Windows MSI installer.
- Fixed a bug that created a new device in the platform when an agent was updated to a 5.3.X release.
- Redacted sensitive information from the agent logs.

- Download improvements. Now include the option to download checksums and signature validation bundles for all Liongard Agent platforms, which partners and employees should use to verify the downloaded installer binary before running it.
- The Auto Updater for the Windows agents now uses the LiongardAgentInstaller.exe instead of the LiongardAgent.msi file.
- The schema and configuration file were updated to simplify concurrency configuration options and adjust the default values to work with most existing network discovery configurations.
