When integrating with Roar, you have options depending on the tools you are already using. If you are using a supported PSA and a supported documentation tool, you can import your companies from either integration. As a best practice, we suggest importing your companies from the integration that acts as your source of truth for your customer relationships.
Please use the table below to inform your Roar integration depending on the tools you are using:
|ConnectWise||IT Glue||I am syncing ConnectWise and IT Glue.||Integrate both. Push Roar's data into IT Glue and ConnectWise.|
|ConnectWise||IT Glue||I am not syncing ConnectWise and IT Glue. I attach configs to tickets in ConnectWise.||Integrate both. Push Roar's data into both IT Glue and ConnectWise.|
|ConnectWise||IT Glue||I am not syncing ConnectWise and IT Glue. I do not attach configs to tickets in ConnectWise.||Integrate both. Push Roar's data into IT Glue.|
|ConnectWise||ConnectWise||N/A||Integrate and push data into ConnectWise.|
|Autotask||IT Glue||N/A||Integrate both. Push Roar's data into IT Glue.|
|Autotask||Autotask||N/A||Integrate with Roar. Use Roar's dashboard for documentation.|
|N/A||IT Glue||N/A||Integrate with Roar. Push Roar's data into IT Glue.|
If you are using BrightGauge, you will integrate Roar regardless of your PSA and documentation tool.
Once you have integrated your PSA and/or documentation tool, use our BrightGauge documentation to integrate with your BrightGauge instance.
Many of our partners are concerned with data duplication in Roar. Review the following FAQs to avoid this situation:
Yes you can push Roar's data into both ConnectWise and IT Glue.
- Where do you want your team to look for documentation?
- Do you attach configs to tickets?
- Do you have two-way sync turned on?
We recommend that you push Roar's data into the platform where you want your team looking for documentation. Specifically for ConnectWise, Roar's configs can be used to attach to tickets, regardless if your team lives in ConnectWise for documentation.
Know that if two-way sync is turned on between IT Glue and ConnectWise and you decide to push Roar's data into both platforms, you may find duplicate data. For IT Glue and ConnectWise we push data into our own Flexible Assets (IT Glue) and Configurations (ConnectWise) as to not override any existing documentation in your systems. In the two-way sync feature, IT Glue will not sync Roar’s Flexible Assets over to ConnectWise because Flexible Assets are not included in two-way sync’s capabilities; however, in the two-way sync feature, ConnectWise will sync Configurations over to Configurations in IT Glue, so if you are pushing Roar’s data into IT Glue Flexible Assets AND ConnectWise Configurations AND ConnectWise is pushing Roar’s data into IT Glue Configurations, you will find duplicate data.
To avoid this, in IT Glue deselect Roar’s Configuration Types (all types ending in “(auto)“), so that they are not included in ConnectWise’s sync back to IT Glue.
Roar does not push data into existing Flexible Assets/configs because we don’t want to override any user generated content. We keep our data in our own Flexible Assets/configs that end in “(auto)” to make sure that your team knows that it was gathered through automation. If you edit Roar's Flexible Assets in IT Glue or the configuration questions in Roar's ConnectWise configs, then Roar will overwrite your edits.
- Roar does not update the Notes Field in Roar's ConnectWise configs.
You can link your Flexible assets/configs with Roar by relating items/associating Flexible Assets/configs with Roar data. If you would like to do this, please reference the following documents:
Can I integrate Roar with more than one ConnectWise instance, ITGlue instance, and/or Autotask instance?
Currently, Roar only supports a single integration per platform instance per Roar instance.
As an example, you can connect one Roar Instance to one IT Glue instance, one ConnectWise instance, and one Autotask instance. In this situation, you would have three platform integrations, but only one per type of integration. This is supported.
Roar cannot support multiple integrations per platform instance per Roar instance. For example, one Roar instance cannot integrate to two ConnectWise platform instances.
If this is something that you would like to see in Roar, please submit a feedback request in our Ideas Portal to get the issue some attention!
